I know, it's October and no one is thinking about things about biochemistry and proteins. But pay attention, today i'm going to talk to you about PROTEIN DATA BANK (insert applause). It's was the first free and open access respository in the areas of biology and medicine, in this way, it plays a fundamental role in scientific investigation. Protein Data Bank consists of a lot of downloadable files of the three-dimensional structure of proteins known arround the word. It also has a section with important information related to proteins, for example, molecule of the month, that is a section showing a particular 3D structure (it can be protein, DNA or RNA), its function and why it is relevant to this month. I must admit that I have not used Protein Data Bank since I finished the biochemistry course, but it's a really useful for studying proteins. So, if you are studying anything related to biochemistry, you don't hesitate use Protein Data Bank.
